Mr. Satyadas is a genius of geniuses. When my husband was diagnosed with two primary cancers three and a half years ago in June 2012 with pancreatic cancer and liver cancer, we truly thought things could never have been more bleak. Before Thomas could operate, I forget how many scans he underwent both at Christies and Manchester Royal Infirmary and not until he was absolutely 110% satisfied that he could operate, would he undertake this some 12 hour surgery as it ended up. He phoned me at 10pm on the evening of the surgery to say that he had "just finished" (this was when the operation had started that day at 9.30am). This wonderful man was contactable by phone along with his GI nurse at any time prior and post surgery and nothing was too much trouble. He would explain in endless detail about the procedure/s (perhaps a little too much at times!) and he put us completely at ease as much as he could under the circumstances. Now I can say, we only got married 8 weeks ago and without Thomas Satyadas, my now- husband would not be here. Thank you is not enough and other patients reading this who are unfortunately not well, can know they are in the BEST hands of the finest surgeon.

We were fortunate enough to be referred to Mr Satyadas for my wife's gall bladder. From the very first consultation, we knew we were in very safe, capable hands. My wife was extremely nervous and hesitant on having any surgery performed. Mr Satyadas gave us time, comfort and expertise advice. In the first consultation, he gave us a thorough explanation of the procedure, and even showed us a short video to allay any fears. We felt unrushed throughout the time, and he gave us all the time we needed. The meeting finished with taking numbers. During the time between consultations and surgery, Mr Satyadas rang us numerous times to answer any queries or allay any fears. Surgery day was when Mr Satyadas really proved what an excellent surgeon he is. He came and saw my wife numerous times before the surgery and after. We had heard about so many complications from friends who had similar surgery from other surgeons. My wife had probably the most simple and uncomplicated surgery! The mark of a true genius is making complicated things look easy..........Mr Satyadas fits the bill perfectly. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Satyadas as his expertise, knowledge and a real empathy with his patients makes him a truly wonderful surgeon. Mustafa and Leila Abdulhusein

Everything that is written about Mr Thomas Satyadas is absolutely true and faultless. After being fortunate enough to have been referred to Thomas Satyadas, my husband had his gall bladder removed on the 4th July 2015. This was carried out by keyhole surgery (Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy) a common procedure with an excellent recovery time. Nothing to be over concerned about you may think as this is a reasonably non invasive operation, however for my husband this was yet another setback for him on a long road to recovery as over the past 18 months he had undergone major spinal surgery, diagnosed and operated on for bowel cancer- having a rare aggressive tumour removed and suffered the debilitating effects of over 6 months of intense chemotherapy. Just when he thought that light was at the end of the tunnel and he was on the finally getting back to normality, a routine scan picked up a stone in the gall bladder which had to come out. This was the last thing that he wanted to face as understandably he felt that he just could not take anymore. Initially reading the reviews that had been written we both felt reassured that my husband was seeing the right person and once we met Thomas Satyadas our expectations were more than exceeded. He put us at ease immediately, and explained every little detail about my husband’s condition and what he proposed to do, listening intently about concerns and anxieties from both of us. He takes time with you and really does make you feel as though you are the only patient that he is caring for. This is an excellent highly skilled, professional surgeon blessed with additional qualities that make him truly unique, taking time to keep personal contact even when the surgery is over and the patient is home. His compassion and empathetic care go unmatched and you truly are in the best hands possible. With a very calming and caring presence you feel as though you have been truly blessed. We were placed in the safe hands of Thomas Satyadas and cannot express enough how highly we think of him. My husband has been lucky enough to be cared for by a number of truly dedicated and skilled surgeons, consultants and medical professionals. Mr Thomas Sataydas has been one of them who, from initial consultation through to final follow up appointment, has made us feel as though he has been a close friend for many years ... and you really don’t want to say goodbye! Still struggling from the effects of all the treatments and surgery that he has faced over the past 18 months, my husband is finding it very hard however Thomas Satyadas has helped him to face yet another hurdle and has helped immensely throughout the healing and recovery process and for that we are eternally grateful. Maybe one day we will meet again.....our very best and most sincere wishes to you & your family Michael & Angela Wilson

Two months ago, on 4-Jun-2015, Dr Thomas Satyadas did operate me to remove a gallbladder in an extremely bad condition, in fact it was a dead gallbladder that could quickly develop into a life threatening disease, if not removed quickly, carefully and adequately. The procedure was smoothly executed and I did not suffer of any infection or pain after the laparoscopic surgery. The four incisions have been precisely performed, healed quickly and are now barely perceived. But, more than commenting on the great technical aptitudes of Dr Satyadas as a surgeon, what I want to enhance here is Dr Thomas Satyadas candid and trusty personality. His very serene and sensitive attitude, always wanting to hear, his care in showing me a video with all the details of the procedure I would undergo next day, as well as clearly explaining all the possible risks of the surgery, immediately created a feeling of confidence in me, my wife and my children that cleared any possible anxiety that I could have in regards to the surgery. And after the surgery, Dr Thomas Satyadas kept calling me at home daily, always caring about the quality of my recovery. It has been a pleasure to meet you, Dr Thomas Satyadas. I and my family, we´ll always be grateful to you and will remember you forever. Thank you and all the best for you and your family. Hope to see you again, if one day I´ll come back to Manchester, hopefully not as a patient this time. Arnaldo Dominguez Carqueijo Luanda, Angola

I was admitted to Manchester Royal Infirmary suffering from severe jaundice and was given tests and scans which showed a growth around my bile duct, but fortunately it was operable. I was placed under the care of Mr. Thomas Satyadas, and he explained thoroughly all details of the eight hour operation that I would have to undergo, and he emphasised the need for me to become very fit and strong prior to this. I could have become very nervous and anxious, but Mr. Satyadas put me at ease and helped me greatly to prepare. I could not have received better care and attention from him and his team both prior to, during, and after the operation, which was a huge success. I had no infections of any kind, no heart or breathing problems, and the very long operation wound healed very cleanly and neatly, attesting to the great skill of him and his team. My recovery was so swift that I was out of bed the day following the eight hour operation, and was sent home eleven days later. Mr. Satyadas continued to keep in touch during the early stages while I was at home recovering. He showed great care, not only for myself, but also for my husband and family. I continue to make a very good recovery and he continues to see me at his clinic and is always very encouraging and supportive. On behalf of myself, my husband, and my children and grandchildren, we cannot thank you enough and will forever be in your debt. With my deepest admiration and affection, Lynn Taylor.
